What are corns?
Nancy:Corns are a cone shape of hard skin caused by pressure and friction which could be caused by ill fitting footwear, changes in foot structure which in turn can affect your gait (the way you walk) or bony deformities. They can be particularly painful and limit walking and footwear.
What causes corns on toes and feet?
Nancy:When the skin on our feet is exposed to permanent pressure and friction – for example, from ill-fitting shoes – it reacts by thickening the epidermis which results in calloused skin. If pressure persists, especially in a specific spot, this calloused skin can form a corn.
Corns are most common on the outside of toes or on the side of a bunion – the areas that experience most rubbing from shoes – but can also appear on the soles of feet. When they appear between toes, where the skin is moist from sweat or inadequate drying, they are known as ‘soft corns’.
How to use it?
Nancy:These Corn plaster cushions are a donought shape of foam and they are placed over the corn so the corn sits in the hole. This works to deflect the pressure away from the corn.Ease the feet pain caused by friction with shoes. the soft foam callus cushions are helpful to reduce shoe pressure and friction, protect your toe and foot well, can be applied to walk, jog, move and make your foot more comfortable.
